Presbyterian Healthcare Services wanted the art program at their new Rust Medical Center in Rio Rancho New Mexico to become an authentic representation of New Mexico’s rich culture and geography while complementing the breathtaking exterior hospital views of the nearby Sandia Mountains.
Rust Medical Center’s art program was to reflect the new face of Presbyterian, elements of which would be implemented at their flagship downtown location to visually create “One Presbyterian.”
Distinctive Art Source engaged the local art community and through a combination of 231 purchased pieces of original multimedia artwork and helped to create the art committee’s vision of “a beautiful science” defined by art committee member Marisa Perez as “the artful depiction of the conscious marrying of similar patterns found in nature, the high tech world and New Mexico’s culture.”
