As a faith-based ministry, Mercy provides exemplary health care and wanted an art program that inspired both the emotion and spirit of its patients. While envisioning a local and intimate feel to their 6-story replacement hospital, Mercy Medical Center set out to keep their patients in close touch with nature by “bringing the outside in.” Distinctive Art Source helped guide the art committee through the selection of awe-inspiring artwork by local artists that featured the beauty of God’s world found in Northwest Arkansas.
Combining the works of local photographers not only supported Mercy’s commitment to maximize the use of local resources, but also provided a level of community excitement as it was featured in newspaper and magazine articles that benefitted the hospital financially.
Sculpted from a photograph, a donor sponsored life-size bronze of Sr. Catherine, who personifies the spirit of the hospital’s Transformation Project.
