“To build a Cancer Center that has never been seen or imaged” was the driving design directive throughout the life of this project. Art selection and placement continues and builds on this narrative. Contemplative site-specific commissioned works add beauty and warmth while providing patient with calm, contemplation spaces. DNA based monumental exterior and interior sculptures greet patients upon arrival giving a nod to personally structured care and the individuality of each patient.
Art Mission: To create spectacular yet familiar warm, inviting, and inclusive spaces in which restorative art both enhances and supports patient/staff experiences while creating new perceptions of cancer care.
Art Goals:
- Create an Inclusive space that reframes the (staff/patient experience) by changing perceptions of cancer care through enriching art experiences.
- Compliment state-of-the-art building design through integrated art selection / placement in a manner that enhances calm and inspires confidence.
- Support personal art experiences that provide patient and family support, respite, and sanctuary.
