Camp Boggy Creek Campers and Families Help Create Hospital Artwork
More than 480 children and family members at Camp Boggy Creek in Eustis, Fl, took part in a special activity this summer that will provide patients and visitors enjoyment for years to come to at Nemours Children’s Hospital Orlando. Distinctive Art Source was honored to commission the creation of “Our Garden Home,” a 15’ x 5’ tile mosaic designed by artist Cindy Fisher.
Located on the hospital’s 4th floor therapy roof garden, the mosaic depicts images of garden friends in both spring and summer. Fisher designed the mosaic and fabricated the background elements, and instructed camp counselors how to work with the children and to create the individual elements of the mosaic including stars, leaves, flowers, animals, raindrops and more.
The resulting mosaic represents a true community collaboration. The sophisticated artistic quality of the finished piece is brought to life by the imaginations of local children.
